More than 90% of the hamstring injuries happen
during the acceleration phase when the runner is running on his/her toes. This often happens when the runner is coming
off the turn in the 200m and accelerates. If you feel any pain in your hamstring when running stop running immediately. Subsequently,
accelerate very slow until you get to the speed that you want.
I tore mine about 100m from then finish line in a 5K race when I accererated to pass another runner. I almost went down and
I could hardly walk to the finish line. I accelerated while running on my toes. I now know not to run on my toes.
